Jon is part of the mapping team which has been examining the scale and scope of CDIT businesses in the North East.
He is interested in the special nature of the creative industries and how this connects with the places in which activities happen. Their outputs enrich our lives, and they are major contributors to our economy. To ensure they continue to do this in innovative, sustainable and exciting ways requires we understand them better and foster their growth across the country.
Jon has a longstanding interest in cultural and creative activities, including research on heritage, film and TV, and the creativity of skateboarders. Most recently he was awarded funding from the British Academy and Leverhulme Trust to examine new geographies of patronage for artists and creators.
